Today we will check the new 2021 updates on MM2H (Malaysia My Second Home) by the Malaysian immigration department. MM2H program has been started with new conditions to attract applicants who can contribute to the country’s economy. MM2H program is now directly under the ministry of immigration & the new policy will be effective for both new & renewal applicants.

Presently there are 57,478 MM2H pass holders, as well as their dependents. More than 1,000 applications are pending from applicants from countries such as China, Japan, the United Kingdom, Bangladesh, South Korea, Singapore, the United States, Australia, Taiwan, and Indonesia.

The government has introduced few new conditions for new applicants & renewal applicants of the MM2H program;

Participants must be in the country for at least 90 days a year to ensure that they are truly contributing to the Malaysian economy.
The age for eligible applicants has now been placed under two categories, one for those between the age of 35 and 49, and the other category is for those 50 years and above. The minimum age of applicants is increased from 21 to 35.
According to the new rules applicants are required to have an offshore income of at least RM40,000 (roughly US$9500 or £6800) a month, which was previously RM10,000.
Applicants need to show liquid assets amounting to RM1.5 million in order to apply for the visa.
The fixed deposit requirement is increased to RM 1million (roughly US$236,000; GB £170,000). Which was previously RM150,000 applicants who were over 50 years, and RM300,000 for those under 50 years of age. In this deposit up to RM500,000 (50%) can be withdrawn for education, health care, or buying a house. In addition, RM50,000 must be placed for each dependent.
The new annual visa fee will be RM500 up from RM90 and there will be a processing fee charged by immigration of RM5,000 for the principal applicants plus RM2,500 for each dependent.

Though the new policies increased the costing & difficulty to do business as MM2H holders can not even open a business bank account in Malaysian banks, as its a tax-free program, for general applicants we will suggest business investment programs such as Business visas through investment & physical business which can cost from RM 100,000 to RM 300,000 depending on business sector & market requirements. MM2H REQUIREMENTS LIST

Letter of Application: This is the Cover Letter where you should state the names of all people who are applying with you. Elaborate on key points like how you plan to support yourself in Malaysia and what financial alternatives you would be using for your daily expenses. We can help to prepare.
A Copy of Resume: The resume should include, we can help to prepare.
MM2H Application form: This form needs to be completed by the main applicant and his spouse (if any)
MM2H Application Form for Dependents: This form needs to be completed by all dependents under the age of 21 years old
IM.12 Form (Social Visit Pass): 3 copies of the form (1 original and 2 photostatted copies) need to be submitted. You can download this form from the MM2H website or get it from the Immigration Department. Our own staff or lawyers or licensed associates will help to fill up.
Passport size Photo: 1 passport size photo with a BLUE background
Passport: All pages that contain entry or exit stamp and passport particular pages with certification on the pages with personal particulars (copy of the previous passport is required if applicant/dependent has renewed his/her passport within the last 12 months).
Letter of Good Conduct (LOGC): Letter of good conduct should be obtained from your relevant government agency or police authority in your country of origin.
Medical Report: This is an initial self-declaration on your/dependents’ health conditions.
Birth Certificate: Birth Certificate of family & kids.
Bank Statement: Certified copy(s) of the latest 3 months’ bank statement /other related financial documents to indicate the financial capability to support your stay in Malaysia.
Source of Income: Show proof of offshore income amounting to RM40,000.
Employed (working)Authorization letter: Applicant should authorize this letter to Malaysia My Second Home Center to verify the financial documents, job, and salary with the relevant financial institutions.
Employed (working): Latest 3 months certified copies of payslip. If your income is less than RM 40,000 per month, you can submit income from your spouse to support the application.
Employee (retired): Pension slip.
Rental Income: Tenancy Agreement.
The interest of Dividends from Investment: Recent 6 month or 1-year statement mentioning the invested amount or dividends received.
